Fall Prevention: New Physio KVG Tariff Positions from July 2026

Since July 1, 2026, physiotherapists in Switzerland can bill new positions in the Physio KVG tariff dedicated to fall prevention.

HIP, developed by Caisse des Médecins, already includes these positions. This development, enshrined in Art. 5 of the OPAS, paves the way for structured preventive care reimbursed through basic health insurance.

What changes
The Federal Council has added fall risk assessment to the KVG benefit catalogue. Unlike standard rehabilitation sessions (positions 7301/7311), these new positions (27001–27006) specifically cover prevention: risk assessment, counselling, interprofessional coordination, and preventive treatment including home visits.

In practice: your 72-year-old patient has an elevated fall risk? Select position 27002 for an in-practice assessment, or 27001 for a home environment evaluation.

These services are linked to the Parachutes and Swiss League Against Rheumatism frameworks. A medical prescription is required. Physioswiss provides a detailed guide and webinars for implementation.

Bill these new positions with HIP
HIP, the practice management software developed by Ärztekasse, already includes the new fall prevention positions in its Physio KVG billing module. Record services without additional setup and benefit from automatic tariff updates, compliant billing across KVG, UVG and IV, and data hosted in Switzerland.
